Incanto a Villa Fiorentino: La Maple Grove HS Band & Orchestra Conquista Sorrento

Sorrento, 12 giugno 2025 – Un’atmosfera magica ha avvolto Villa Fiorentino ieri sera, in occasione del concerto della Maple Grove HS Band & Orchestra proveniente da Maple Grove, Minnesota, USA. Sotto la sapiente direzione di Matt Caron e Wade Schroeder, i giovani musicisti americani hanno regalato al pubblico sorrentino un’esibizione indimenticabile, accolta con grande entusiasmo e partecipazione.

L’ingresso libero ha permesso a numerosi appassionati di musica e curiosi di affollare i giardini di Villa Fiorentino, desiderosi di assistere a questo evento internazionale. I 78 talentuosi studenti, tra strumentisti di banda e orchestra, hanno dimostrato una preparazione impeccabile e una passione contagiosa, testimonianza del loro impegno e del lavoro svolto durante l’anno scolastico.

Matt Caron, direttore dell’orchestra, ha espresso la sua gioia per essere tornati in Italia: “Siamo davvero felici di essere qui. Veniamo da Maple Grove, Minnesota, un sobborgo di Minneapolis”. Ha poi sottolineato l’importanza di questa esperienza per gli studenti, la prima volta che l’intero gruppo si esibisce all’estero. Wade Schroeder, direttore della banda, ha aggiunto dettagli sul programma, che ha incluso brani per soli archi, per soli fiati e percussioni, e un pezzo finale che ha combinato tutte le sezioni, offrendo una panoramica della versatilità e del talento del gruppo.

La Maple Grove High School, con i suoi circa 2.500 studenti, vanta un programma musicale d’eccellenza che coinvolge circa 500 ragazzi tra coro, banda e orchestra. I giovani musicisti si preparano quasi quotidianamente, e il gruppo in tournée ha dedicato prove settimanali per tutto l’anno in vista di questo viaggio.

Il tour della Maple Grove HS Band & Orchestra proseguirà dopo Sorrento con tappe significative: “Domani andremo ad Amalfi e Positano, e poi andremo a Roma dove faremo un concerto a Orto e un altro a Roma”, ha rivelato Caron, evidenziando il desiderio del gruppo di immergersi completamente nella cultura e nelle bellezze italiane.

Il concerto di ieri sera è stato un perfetto esempio di come la musica possa unire culture e creare ponti tra paesi lontani. Sorrento, June 12, 2025 – A magical atmosphere enveloped Villa Fiorentino last night, as the Maple Grove HS Band & Orchestra from Maple Grove, Minnesota, USA, took the stage. Under the skilled direction of Matt Caron and Wade Schroeder, the young American musicians treated the Sorrento audience to an unforgettable performance, met with great enthusiasm and participation.

Free admission allowed numerous music lovers and curious onlookers to flock to the Villa Fiorentino gardens, eager to witness this international event. The 78 talented students, comprising both band and orchestra members, showcased impeccable preparation and contagious passion, a testament to their dedication and hard work throughout the school year.

Matt Caron, the orchestra director, expressed his joy at being back in Italy: “We are truly happy to be here. We come from Maple Grove, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.” He then emphasized the importance of this experience for the students, marking the first time the entire group has performed abroad. Wade Schroeder, the band director, added details about the program, which included pieces for strings only, for winds and percussion only, and a final piece that combined all sections, offering a comprehensive look at the group’s versatility and talent.
