Dal 16 luglio al 25 settembre, personaggi, interpreti e protagonisti della grande musica classica a Sorrento
Il suggestivo scenario del Chiostro di S. Francesco riapre nuovamente le porte ai grandi eventi ed alla grande musica, con la XV edizione 2022 di “Sorrento Classica”, il festival internazionale estivo di Sorrento, firmato dalla direzione artistica del M° PAOLO SCIBILIA, organizzato dalla S.C.S. Società dei Concerti di Sorrento e dalla Città di Sorrento (nella persona del Sindaco, Avv.to Massimo Coppola), all’interno del programma ufficiale degli eventi della Città di Sorrento. Collaborano inoltre: MiC Ministero della Cultura – Direzione Generale Spettacolo, Regione Campania, Sorrento Fondazione, Odine dei Frati Minori, istituzioni ed aziende locali.
Undici gli appuntamenti serali, con inizio alle ore 21.15 (solo 10 agosto, ore 22:30 e 25 settembre ore 18.30), preceduti, il 16 luglio, ore 21.00, in anteprima del Festival, dal concerto straordinario della Sorrento Classica Festival String Orchestra – Kharkiv Chamber Orchestra, dedicato alla Pace ed alle vittime della guerra in Ucraina.
Sorrento Classica apre, il 24 luglio, con PROFUNDIS ORCHESTRA OF SKOPJE e la pianista solista EMA POPIVODA In anteprima assoluta “Supersonics Pieces”(Suite per piano e orchestra) e brani di Bach, Tchaikovsky e compositori Macedoni. Direttori Gjurgica Dasic e Paolo Scibilia. 25 luglio, il pianista ANTONIO DI CRISTOFARO, esegue il Concerto K449 di Mozart, con la Profundis Orchestra of Skopje, e brani di Chopin, Brahms e Rachmaninov. 27 luglio, ritorna il pianista MAURIZIO MASTRINI (l’unico pianista al mondo che suona la musica “ al contrario” ed ai massimi livelli del concertismo internazionale) con SUONOSFERA STRING ENSEMBLE. In anteprima assoluta un omaggio alla musica da Film di Ennio Morricone e agli albums di Maurizio Mastrini, “Hugs”, “W La Vita” e Lockdown”, in una esclusiva nuova versione “Medeley” per piano ed archi. 29 luglio, il controtenore MAURIZIO DI MAIO con APULIA CELLO ENSEMBLE, insolita formazione cameristica, dove il fascino coinvolgente ed intrigante delle sonorità del quintetto di violoncelli, vera e propria tavolozza dell’espressività e potenzialità del canto inteso in senso lato, si fonde suggestivamente con l’incredibile vocalità del controtenore, per una emozionante celebrazione della vox umana, dal Barocco a musiche originali.
4 agosto, il pluripremiato pianista di origine australiana LESLIE HOWARD, guinness dei primati per aver inciso la più grande discografia di qualsiasi strumentista solista nella storia, pari a 140 CD, che include 58 volumi e 100 dischi dell’Opera Omnia per pianoforte di Liszt. Per l’occasione il pianista sarà insignito con il Premio alla Carriera “Liszt100″ Sorrento Classica, per i benemeriti e primati conseguiti nel campo dell’ Arte.
7 agosto, AIMAN MUSSAKHAJAYEVA – violinista (“Sibelius”,“Tchaikovsky”,“Paganini” Awards – Deutsche Grammophon Records Artist) e ACADEMY OF SOLOISTS Kazhakistan State Chamber Orchestra, con celebri brani virtuosistici di Saint Saens, De Sarasate, Massenet, Bizet, De Falla e cameristici. 10 agosto (orario straordinario 22.30) “Midnight Candelight Concert”, con GIUSEPPE NOVA – flauto d’oro di nome e di fatto & ELENA PIVA arpa (prima arpa siolista dell’Orchestra “Giuseppe Verdi” di Milano) eseguono “Jeu d’eau et d’amour” che include, tra i celebri brani, il doppio Concerto per flauto e arpa di Mozart K299, accompagnato dalla SCF Ensemble Orchestra. 13 agosto, appuntamento di letteratura e musica con celebre attore di teatro, cinema e televisivo, MICHELE PLACIDO – voce recitante & il Duo pianistico SCHIAVO – MARCHEGIANI, interpretano “Il Sosia” – Vita pubblica e privata di Franz Schubert, musicista – di Stefano Valanzuolo. Un’indagine, in forma di racconto romantico, su un genio della musica, nella cui vicenda la dimensione intima e quella artistica si intrecciano in modo affascinante. Musiche di Franz Schubert. 16 agosto, altro appuntamento di letteratura e musica con il celebre giornalista televisivo BRUNO GAMBAROTTA – voce recitante & GIORGIO COSTA – pianoforte, in “Sogni Notturni”. Un omaggio a Fryderyk Chopin, dove le garbate ed aneddotiche letture si fondono in sintonia con le note romantiche, intense ed estrose della musica di Chopin. 21 agosto, nelle location straordinaria di Villa Fiorentino, la famosa vocalist inglese e fra le più intense e ammalianti voci femminili della musica contemporanea, , SARAH JANE MORRIS, – vocalist & Maurizio Di Fulvio’s Friends, interpreteranno brani del repertorio internazionale R&B, Soul e Jazz. Domenica 25 settembre (location e location straordinarie, Teatro Tasso, ore 18.30) gran finale con il ritorno a Sorrento, dopo più di 20 anni di assenza, del grande violinista SALVATORE ACCARDO in duo con l’altrettanto celeberrimo pianista BRUNO CANINO. Per l’occasione Salvatore Accardo sarà insignito con il Premio alla Carriera “Sorrento Classica” 2022, per i benemeriti dell’arte ed il suo storico legame con la Penisola Sorrentina.

XV SORRENTO CLASSICA FESTIVAL AT THE CLOISTER OF S. FRANCESCO
From 16 July to 25 september, characters, performers and protagonists of the great classical music in Sorrento
The evocative scenery of the Cloister of S. Francesco reopens its doors again to great events and great music, with the XV 2022 edition of “Sorrento Classica”, the international summer festival of Sorrento, signed by the artistic direction of M ° PAOLO SCIBILIA, organized from the S.C.S. Concert Society of Sorrento and the City of Sorrento (in the person of the Mayor, Mr. Massimo Coppola), within the official program of events in the City of Sorrento. Also collaborating: MiC Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Entertainment, Campania Region, Sorrento Foundation, Order of the Friars Minor, local institutions and companies.
Eleven evening appointments, starting at 9.15 pm (only 10 August, 10.30 pm and 25 September at 6.30 pm), preceded, on July 16, at 9.15 pm, in preview of the Festival, by the extraordinary concert of the Sorrento Classica Festival String Orchestra – Kharkiv Chamber Orchestra, dedicated to Peace and to the victims of the war in Ukraine.
Sorrento Classica opens on 24 July with PROFUNDIS ORCHESTRA OF SKOPJE and the piano soloist EMA POPIVODA In absolute preview “Supersonics Pieces” (Suite for piano and orchestra), pieces by Bach, Tchaikovsky and Macedonian composers. Conductors, Gjurgica Dasic and Paolo Scibilia July 25, the pianist ANTONIO DI CRISTOFARO plays the Mozart Concerto K449 performed by the Profundis Orchestra of Skopje, and solo pieces by Chopin, Brahms and Rachmaninoff. July 27, the pianist MAURIZIO MASTRINI (the only pianist in the world who plays music “backwards” and at the highest levels of international concertism returns) with SUONOSFERA STRING ENSEMBLE. An absolute preview of a tribute to Ennio Morricone’s film music and Maurizio Mastrini’s albums, “Hugs”, “W La Vita” and Lockdown “, in an exclusive new “Medeley ” version for piano and strings. July 29, the countertenor MAURIZIO DI MAIO with APULIA CELLO ENSEMBLE, an unusual chamber ensemble, where the captivating and intriguing charm of the cello quintet’s sounds, a real palette of expressiveness and potential of singing in a broad sense, merges suggestively with the incredible voice of the countertenor, for an exciting celebration of the human vox, from the Baroque to original music.
August 4, the award-winning Australian-born pianist LESLIE HOWARD, Guinness Book of Records for having recorded the largest discography of any solo instrumentalist in history, amounting to 140 CDs, which includes 58 volumes and 100 discs of Liszt’s Opera Omnia for piano. For the occasion, the pianist will be awarded with the “Liszt100” Sorrento Classica Lifetime Achievement Award, for the meritorious and records achieved in the field of Art. August 7, AIMAN MUSSAKHAJAYEVA – violinist (“Sibelius”, “Tchaikovsky”, “Paganini” Awards – Deutsche Grammophon Records Artist) and ACADEMY OF SOLOISTS Kazhakistan State Chamber Orchestra, with famous virtuosic pieces by Saint Saens, De Sarasate, Massenet, Bizet, De Falla and chamber music. 10 August (extraordinary time 10.30pm) “Midnight Candelight Concert”, with GIUSEPPE NOVA – golden flute by name and by nature & ELENA PIVA harp (first siolist harp of the “Giuseppe Verdi” Orchestra of Milan) perform “Jeu d’eau et d’amour “, which includes among the famous pieces, the double Concerto for flute and harp by Mozart K299, accompanied by the SCF Ensemble Orchestra. August 13, appointment of literature and music with the famous actor of theater, cinema and television, MICHELE PLACIDO – narrator & the piano duo SCHIAVO – MARCHEGIANI, interpret “The Double” – Public and private life of Franz Schubert, musician – by Stefano Valanzuolo. An investigation, in the form of a romantic tale, on a genius of music, in whose story the intimate and the artistic dimension intertwine in a fascinating way. Music by Franz Schubert. August 16, another appointment of literature and music with the famous television journalist BRUNO GAMBAROTTA – narrator & GIORGIO COSTA – piano, in ” Night Dreams “. A tribute to Fryderyk Chopin, where polite and anecdotal readings blend in harmony with the romantic, intense and whimsical notes of Chopin’s music. August 21, in the extraordinary location of Villa Fiorentino, the famous English vocalist and one of the most intense and captivating female voices of contemporary music, SARAH JANE MORRIS, – vocalist & MAURIZIO DI FULVIO’S FRIENDS, will perform songs from the international R&B, Soul and Jazz repertoire. Sunday 25 September (extraordinary location and time, Tasso Theater, 6.30 pm – Tasso Theater) gran finale with the return to Sorrento, after more than 20 years, of the great violinist SALVATORE ACCARDO, in duo with the equally famous pianist BRUNO CANINO. For the occasion Salvatore Accardo will be awarded with the “Sorrento Classica” 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, for the meritorious of art and its strong and historical link with the Sorrento Peninsula.
The Mayor of Sorrento, Avv.
