Capri, The Land of What Dreams are Made of

Sorrento’s coastline location offers the ability to see other places around the coast such as Mount Vesuvius, Positano, and other beautiful surrounding locations. During my first weekend here in Sorrento, I amongst others, were able to visit the beautiful island of Capri.

In order to get to Capri, we took a short ferry ride from Sorrento to Capri. Once we arrived to our final destination, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Capri is an image from a magazine, to say the least. Between the crystal clear deep blue water and the bright vivid colors of the island, it was nothing less than breath-taking.

After arriving to the beautiful land of Capri, we decided to take a boat tour around the island which was anything but disappointing. We were able to get a taste of the Blue Grotto and experience the Faraglioni di Capri, which is also something you have to see in order to believe.

Capri was our first stop on the island. It was more of a “look but don’t touch” stop since the streets were flooded with designer stores like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, and many others.

The pathways and homes were filled with purple vibrant flowers that seemed to almost take over the landscape. Between the view of the ocean and the areas that have been taken over by flowers. It was almost as if I entered another world.

Anacapri was just as beautiful as Capri, but held more opportunity considering its low abundance of designer boutiques. After a quick lunch, we took the chair lift to the highest point on the island of Capri that provided us with a 360 degree view of the island. The view is a must see and will remind you of everything that is good in the world.
