Carol Ginsburg Lauro has left us…

  Carol Ginsburg Lauro has died a few days before the New Year after a feisty and valiant struggle with cancer over a period of over 35 years. Her grace and determination created an aura about her of serenity and joyfulness. A native New Yorker she met her husband Giorgio, while studying in Florence, a physician and dentist who died just a few years ago. His death preceded  by their young son Skip in a  skiing accident in 1972 at the age of sixteen.It was Giorgio who brought her to Positano and where they came to be known for their gentility and kindness.

In spite of obstacles that would emotionally crush most people Carol always had a smile and a bright hello when you encountered her. Whether doing the daily “spesa” or walking her dogs she would have a warm and winning smile that lifted you no matter what mood you were in. She will be remembered for many reasons but her smile  and good humour most of all.
