Thank you. To the Minister of Environment the Honourable Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, The Wildlife Oasis of ‘Il Porto’, Positano, Coast of Amalfi, Italy, for the past 7 years recognized as SIC (Site of European Community Importance), is,once again, in terrible danger. Both Comunità Montana and Commune of Positano have approved projects, financed by the Region of Campania, which would put in jeopardy its unique ecosystem, and the very rare species of flora and fauna still surviving in this extraordinary microcosm. These projects, which are only useful for the reception of large public funds, include cement dams in the river-bed, stairs, cutting of trees, etc.,which would forever compromise the natural environment of this wild canyon, safeguarded for decades by the Australian artist Vali Myers. In the past 20 years her friend, the Italian artist Gianni Menichetti, is following her noble cause. This is the message:”Leave Wild Nature alone!” Please do all you can to stop such destructive projects.
