Più informazioni su
Directed to the proprietors of the Mulino D’Arienzo a restraining order was issued by the Ministry of Beni e Attivi Culturali. Requested by Mayor Domenico Marrone several months ago the order imposes restrictions on how work might proceed on the site.
Constructed in the 16th Century and renovated in the twentieth by the Russian writer Mikhail Semenov, the property saw as his guests such notables as Diaghilev, Stravinsky, Picasso, Massine, Clavel, Marquardt and many others including some of the greatest Russian artists and writers of that generation.
Legend has it that a Freeman of Tiberius Caesar whose name was Arienzo used to ground the flour for the bread that was baked here for Tiberius, notorious for his fear of being poisoned or otherwise done in while ruling the Roman Empire from Capri for the 10 years in which he was domiciled there.
Mayor Domenico Marrone has expressed his satisfaction for the order which attests to a property of great historical value to Positano .
