01/02/2010Pensiero Della Settimana When the mind took over and humans lost touch with the reality of their divine essence, they started to think of god as a male figure. Society became male dominated, and the female was made subordinate to the male.
I am not suggesting a return to earlier female representations of the divine. Some people now use the term Goddess instead of God. They are redressing a balance between male and female that was lost a long time ago, and that is good. But it is still a representation and a concept, perhaps temporarily useful, but more of a hindrance than a help when you are ready to realize the reality beyond all concepts and images.
What does remain true , however, is that the energy frequency of the mind appears to be essentially male.

04/01/2010LETTER FROM NEW YORK - 9 January 3, 2010 - It’s freezing here in New York. True winter has finally arrived and with it, a couple of snowstorms. But, like many things in New York, the joyful white carpet of snow that blanketed the city didn’t last long. It quickly turned to gray slush, then disappeared completely. Now, it’s just cold with no scenic mitigating factors. Still, the streets are full of people, rushing about with hats pulled down low over their ...Leggi tutto by Positano News
21/10/2009LETTER FROM NEW YORK 8
October 19, 2009
It was just about a year ago that I began writing my letters from New York for Positano News , Amalfi and Sorrento online newspaper . Since I’m of an age where I can barely remember what I was thinking last week, let alone last year, I retrieved a couple of the early specimens to see what had changed. As it turns out, not so much. At least not for the average citizen. If you happen to be a hedge ...Leggi tutto by Positano News
07/10/2009Italian Court Rejects Prime Minister’s Immunity
Italy's top court ruled on Wednesday that a law granting Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi immunity from prosecution violates the constitution, in a verdict that could reopen trials against him and undermine his government. Judicial sources said the Constitutional Court ruled that the law passed last year by the centre-right leader, soon after he returned for a third term in power, violates the principle that all citizens are equal before the law. The immunity law is also ...Leggi tutto by Positano News

The reception was a champagne buffet on the garden followed by a four-course dinner on the terrace overlooking the whole coast! 11/08/2009POSITANO, THE FISH FESTIVAL The festival was always held on the last Saturday of September, and it became a highlight of the summer season in Positano, Amalfi Coast costiera amalfitana , a symbolic farewell to the summer and a salute to our guests. It featured traditional music and our local seafood specialities: totani e patate, frittura di paranza, tubetti e totani (stewed cuttlefish with potatoes, crunchy fried fish, pasta with cuttlefish sauce).
In 1991, the festival was suspended because ...Leggi tutto by Positano News
11/08/2009LETTER FROM NEW YORK 7 Last week, Ben Bernanke, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, announced that the U.S. economy is finally improving. There were a few caveats of course. In his statement, he noted that high unemployment together with tight credit is likely to limit consumer spending. I didn’t need the Chairman to tell me that. I can see it right here in my neighborhood, an ever-evolving microcosm of urban economy that seems to reflect the national trends.
For the past thirty some odd years, I’ve lived in the same apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Bordered by Lincoln Center to the south, Columbia University to the north, Riverside Park and the Hudson River to the west and Central Park to the east, the area has traditionally ...Leggi tutto by Positano News
10/08/2009La mmèsca ... they have it, but don´t know The other evening there was a festival full of traditions in Corsano, one of the 13 villages of Tramonti. Like always I took my camera and made quite some photos. On just a table some grocery products were displayed and so I thought: well, let me have a look, but it was quite dark there and I could not really see well. The beans looked familiar to me and so I asked: is this the traditional mixture of beans you use here in Tramonti? The answer was no. Then this morning a surprise: ...Leggi tutto by Positano News

31/07/2009ITALY AFTER BERLUSCONI Italy’s problems do not end with Berlusconi
By Geoff Andrews

The now daily revelations about Silvio Berlusconi’s sex life suggest to many a leader unfit to govern. Yet in the extensive coverage in the international press and the growing condemnation of the Italian prime minister’s behaviour, bigger problems are being missed that go to the heart of Italy’s decline and which will not be remedied solely by his removal from office.
The central issue in the background is the extent of corruption at the heart of the government, and the lack of transparency and accountability that bedevils efforts to deal with it. There is a culture of illegality that runs through Italian politics ...Leggi tutto by Positano News

The consultation document authored by Sir David Walker, the former regulator and investment banker, on the governance of financial institutions follows other reports led by senior City figures, including Financial Services Authority chairman Adair Turner on banking regulation and Sir Win Bischoff, former Citigroup chairman, on London’s global competitiveness.
The combined results are exactly what you would expect from asking a group of practitioners how to rectify faults that were of their own industry’s making. Their ideas are practical, sensible but, despite squeals from an industry that does not wish to appear to be getting ...Leggi tutto by Positano News

The feud in Formula One is so riddled with peculiarities that it can be hard to see it for what it is: the latest act in the saga of upper-class Brits being ousted as rulers of the world.
On the surface, of course, it is just eight racing teams threatening to leave Formula One because Max Mosley, the president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, wants to impose a spending cap on them. We can dismiss as mere distractions last year’s claims that Mr Mosley participated in a Nazi-themed orgy and last week’s praise by Mr Mosley’s ally Bernie Ecclestone, the Formula One commercial director, ...Leggi tutto by Positano News

Democratic senators on Sunday called for an investigation into reports that Dick Cheney, the former vice-president, instructed the Central Intelligence Agency not to tell Congress about a secret counter-terrorism programme.
Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate intelligence committee, said on Fox news on Sunday that Congress “should have been told” about the CIA programme and that the vice-president should not be above the law.
