Max Chipchase has rapidly gained a reputation as a top international DJ. Clients such as The Rolling Stones, Robert de Niro and Louis Vuitton have all relied on his unique skills for their events. Whether it’s catwalk shows, exclusive parties or background music in luxury stores, Max tailors his sound to enhance the atmosphere and is a master of sound-scaping and mood-management. RESIDENCIES Max originally rose to recognition through his residencies at some of London’s top venues. After a series of very successful nights at several prestigious venues, in 1999 Max was offered a residency at the newly opened Opium, which went on to be voted ‘Best New Venue 2000’ at the London Club Awards. In 2001, Max left Opium and began a year long residency at the renowned London restaurant Hakkasan, which was voted ‘Best New Restaurant 2001’ at the London Club Awards. There, his regular appearances alongside top French DJ’s such as Stephane Pompougnac (Hotel Costes, Paris) and Charles Schillings (Elite) quickly gained him wide praise for his smooth, upbeat style. INTERNATIONAL ACCLAIM In addition to DJing at London venues such as Annabels, The Arts Club, Aura, Boujis, and Chinawhite, Max has appeared at some of the hottest international venues such as Platinum in Geneva, Greengo in Gstaad, Sho Cho and Boudoir in Dubai, Velours and Sound Museum Vision in Tokyo, Dragon-I and Kee Club in Hong Kong, Velvet and Zouk in Malaysia, Stereolab in Singapore, KuDeTa in Bali and Singapore as well as venues in New York, LA, Miami, Mexico, Sao Paulo, Prague, Budapest, Norway, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Morocco, Turkey, Greece, India, Russia and throughout Asia. EXCLUSIVE PARTIES AND EVENTS Max’s reputation within the music industry has led to him playing at Mick Jagger’s 60th Birthday in Prague, as well as numerous parties for The Rolling Stones. He was the Official DJ on Madonna’s 2004 UK Re-invention tour and has played for Tina Turner and Britney Spears. He has also performed alongside Sir Elton John, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Lionel Richie, Aretha Franklin, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and The Black Eyed Peas at private engagements. For the fashion world, Max performed at the 150th Anniversary of Louis Vuitton in Tokyo, the 25th Anniversary of Cartier in Beverly Hills and at Tommy Hilfiger’s 20th Anniversary in Paris. He also played at the launch shows of Bvlgari’s ‘Astrale’ in New York and St Petersberg, at Giorgio Armani’s birthday, and at countless events and shows for many of the world’s leading luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Bvlgari, Roberto Cavalli, Givenchy, Chanel, Chloe, Stella MacCartney, Alexander McQueen, Diane Von Furstenberg, Sergio Rossi, Ferragamo, Burberry, Swarovski, DeBeers, Bally, Montblanc, Tod’s, Hogan, John Lobb and Dunhill. He has also performed at the London BAFTA awards and during both the Golden Globes and Oscar ceremonies. During his career Max has performed at numerous high profile weddings all over the world. In 2011 he played at the star-studded wedding of famed Chinese pop star Coco Lee to tycoon Bruce Rockowitz held at Shaw Studios in Hong Kong, an event that made front page news throughout Asia. He has even been engaged by Royal appointment, and performed at the weddings of HSH Prince Alexander of Liechtenstein, HRH Prince Manuel of Bavaria, HRH Prince Tarik of Oman and HRH Princess Tania of Oman. For several years running he played for Cantor Fitzgerald (Official Sponsors) at the Monaco Grand Prix and in 2004 he played at the F1 opening party in London. Max has also played during the Cannes Film Festival for numerous private events including screen legend Dennis Hopper’s birthday party in 2005. For the past three years Max has performed at the VIP Closing Party of the Dubai World Cup, hosted by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. PRODUCTION & CONSULTANCY In addition to filling dance floors around the world, Max is the Music Consultant to The Gucci Group, advising on music for their brands (Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella MacCartney, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Bedat, Boucheron and Sergio Rossi). He has also consulted to world-renowned photographer Mario Testino and his London based agency, Higher & Higher. Max was also the Musical Director of NetJets from 2003 until 2008. His expertise on music policy is in constant demand and his signature sound has been heard in numerous stores, hotels, restaurants and bars all over the world. He has even been commissioned to act as Music Supervisor on various US TV shows and commercials as well the award-winning US-based independent feature film, Tracing Cowboys. For the past ten years Max has been the Music Correspondent for Prestige Hong Kong, the leading luxury and lifestyles publication based in Hong Kong and has his own monthly column chronicling his travels and experiences which is syndicated in all regional issues of Prestige throughout Asia. He also wrote for Hong Kong Tatler for over a year and kept a blog on the website, AsiaTatler.com. In December 2007 Max launched his own radio show, “The Son De Luxe Show” which ran for two years in Japan on Tokyo based Inter FM as well as Love FM in Nagoya & Radio I in Fukuoka. It was also broadcast throughout Turkey on Istanbul based station, Power XL.
